To the contrary, I agree with you completely. My point was the damage
that gets done to innovation. You have to now factor into the
equation how someone might misuse your product and how others will
then use that as their meal ticket. Too often the equation comes down
on the side that says it's not worth the exposure. That is what
the "self-censorship" comment was about.

One wonders what new products and ideas have been "strangled in the
crib" this way we will never know about. It used to be Darwin took
care of the former before there were so darn many of the latter.
