Hi Dave,

I have repaired a few of these controls, all have been quite easy.
Parker Controls, who make the things, are no help as they either want
to sell you a new one at silly cost or want you to use their repair
service at equally silly cost.

The first thing to check is for a dead short between the + and - power
pins. A common fault is for a tant capacitor to blow after it has
taken out the 7805 voltage regulator. It is simple to replace both
these components after you have drummed up the courage to remove the
heatsinks.

Secondly are you sre the CD20 is faulty? The reason I ask is it is
usually used with a timing card and that can pop. This card is just a
stack of cheap transistors and some 555 timers. I changed the lot for
just a couple of £'s.

There is still a lot of these conrollers around if you look in the
right place, and this list is probably not it. Try:

Let me know how you get on.

Regards, Terry
