Bob,
I haven't tried but bag wax, as regards to painting, would seem to
combine the worst qualities of wax and polyethylene. I wouldn't think
you could do anything with it. The foam is a different matter. The
florist foam is much less reactive than normal foams and I suspect,
though haven't tried, that enamel could be used.
