I forget who but someone on either this list or the MACH3 list had the great
idea of putting the model in a tank and then flooding it with milk every
1/4" or so and taking a picture from above.
This would capture all of the object and not just the area that a laser can
reach.
Doesn't do overhangs though but you could edit that in Rhino after input.
