Gezzzz Tom:
What do you do with your CNC machine. Go out to the shop and watch it got
back and forth? Of course you use CAD files which are turned into machine
CODE an then made on a CNC machine. You change or perfect the CAD file on the
computer in CAD first. Then you convert that to machine code to use it on
a CNC machine. Maybe you should read the groups heading yourself,
_CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO@yahoogroups.com_ (mailto:CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO@yahoogroups.com) . The man
just asked why, I was looking for those type of files. CNC machines don't
make CAD files, people do with CAD software. Why don't you just kill all
discussion about CAD, CAM, and will just all go out to the shop and look at
our machines go back and forth. Don't you think maybe someone here may want
to make there own CNC head, block, crank, barrel, engine, etc. Not all
people can design stuff, but they maybe can read a blue print or CAD file and
machine it. If it's put in public domain any one can make it, also patents
are only good for about 10 years. So, if you want to machine a 1911 45ACP
Colt pistol you can today. The plans are in Public domain. Most, guns patents
are way to old. This is 2010 Tom, so anything older than 2000 the patent
has run out. Actually, most companies don't even go to the trouble to patent
most things today, because there either obsolete in a very short time and
most foreign countries don't honor our system anyway. So relax.

Lets pull this thread back to the focus of home built CNC machinery and
associated topics. While the discussion of the CAD files and that aspect is
on topic the project list (unless they were made/modified with your own CNC
machine(s)) is not. It's interesting but better discussed on other forums
dedicated to those subjects.
