Sharing models

Hello Bill:

For your info, you can right click on most any web/ebay photo and copy,
paste, save, print. Good way to collect photo's. Some you have to select, then
copy and past into something like a word doc. i think that's if it's a BMP
file.
Most are jpg files.

Hi All:
I am like Bill (list Mom) in that I can do things a lot faster with a
pencil and paper then I can (and many cad guys) do it on the computer. I also
still do most things in 2d but I have worked in 3d ( wire frames and a
little solids). When I am working on the computer I have to work out the
dimensions. In the time it takes me to do this I sketch out the part on paper
to rough shape so I can get the size relations. So since I all ready have
the sketch I just add the dimension and then build the part on CAD or the
real thing. I like CAD and have used AutoCAD since version 2.4 (1985) and I
have been working with NC since 1962 but, for a lot of things I still do it
by hand.
Because of this interest in improving my CAD I started taking photos of
different tools that I am interested in making for my shop. Just the other
day I saw a different design for work support on the mill for sell on Ebay.
The two parts each had 117 drilled and tapped holes in them. I was going
to buy them just for the idea but they sold for too much. So, I took a
photo of the enlarged picture on the screen with my phone camera and printed
it. From the photo I was able to scale the unknown step size and now I can
draw up the project in CAD and share it with you folks.
