I need help with the math to calculate force/torque or what the correct term would be.
imagine a 12 inch bar sticking out from the table. theoretically, the bar would not bend, only the connection/mount.
#1) the mount were close to the bar, such as a hammer claw is to a nail.
#2) the bar in on a bracket, the bracket is about 6 inches long (very heavy and theoretical will not bend) on the table. the bar would be the same length, but removed from the pivot point by about 4 or 6 inches. The bracket could end at the bar, or continue past by 4-6 inches.
My math is horrible for these formulas.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
If you want numbers, I am figuring about 100 to 250 pounds of pressure on the bar. the bar is 12 inches off the table. pressure is linear, or parallel to the table.
Thanks !
Dave
