Hi,

one very important bit of information is just how large of a part you want to cut.

when I was doing production lathe work, we were doing 12 inch stainless steel rings. some about 0.1 " thick.

to hold them we used soft jaws, welded on a 1 inch thick steel tube, cut the dia of the part, then separated the ring to make each act independently.

you can buy the headstock of a 7x10 mini lathe from littlemachineshop and mount it on risers to swing a pretty large part.

since you are doing plastics, your cutting forces will be much less than if you were doing metals.
