Converting a Enco Knee mill

Since I have been so interested in building a cnc machine I have been
talking to a freind of mine who has a large lathe and Enco Knee mill.
He is very curious about converting the mill to cnc and doing it the
right way....
If anyone could put me onto what to get for this mill I would
appriciate it...
where be it a kit or build from scratch.....
want it to be driven from the personal computer....
