I am using Vector CAD/CAM to generate g-code for lathe work and using EMC to
run the lathe. While on a lathe the code is normally X and Z EMC does not
understand this, so I am having Vector convert the g-code to X Y
automatically. No problems whatever and it is great being able to tapers
without having to mess with angling the crossfeed or to turn eliptical
tapers and the like.
The lathe is a Shoptask 3 in 1 and the drive is a Camtronics 5 amp stepper
unit and some 550 in/oz steppers.
