Three possibilities come to mind:-

1. Is it a large drive and does the on-board BIOS know its all there? On
older computers there was a limit on the size of hard drive the bios would
see and the drive had to have additioal software to allow use of the whole
drive. This technology has apparently carried on with some manufacturers
whose drives have to have a resident program to 'activate' them and these
programs often don't work outside the windows environment.

2. Check the BIOS setup (hit delete or F1 when you boot up the computer) -
make sure the hard drive has LBA mode set - I had a problem at one time
where some glitch in the RH5.2 installation was resetting the Hard drive
Mode to 'normal' (I'll bet this is your actual problem)

3. Did you tell RH5.2 to install LILO on the MBR and NOT to use 'Linear'
mode?
