Group purchase of Shooting Star DRO's

Hello All,

Marty Escarcega (a rec.crafts.metalworking regular) has been
coordinating a group buy of 2 and 3 axis Shooting Star
DRO's. For details, see his postings (CBX DRO) on the

He's given me his blessings to pass this along here.

Normal price is $599/$749 (2/3 axis); the price in this buy
will be 30% off, or $419.30 for a 2 axis unit and $524.30
for a 3 axis unit, if 30 folks are found. Right now he has
27 or so on the list.

This DRO uses a rack and pinion; there are some discussions
on that message board of the drawbacks, and a reply from
someone from Shooting Star. Customer support is apparently
excellent (again, see some comments on the message board).

I have no connection to either Marty or Shooting Star,
except that I'm signed up for a 3-axis for my Bridgeport.
