Point taken -when I had cause to delve into the works of a large (circa 10
tons) Mori-Seki / Fanuc vertical machiing centre, I found the whole mess was
beingg run by a Z 80 CPU - truly ancient. I think though that this early
processor uses a different instruction set and register structure, which
just might be more suitable for this useage. The thing was 4 axis capable
