It appears to do grooving since it has vertical roughing, also facing in
addition to the horizontal roughing.. I have seen no mention of
threading capabilities, so far.It has choices for lathe tools and
configures gcode for that tool. It probably allows configuring your own
tool but have not had time to explore that yet.I am just beginning to
discover the capabilities. I just finished the roughing program for a
second piece(1077 lines of code) More chips. As I get further along in
this job I will have more time to explore the full capabilities of the
program.I am very new to cnc. In fact this is my first full cnc job. It
took me 2-3 days to convert one of my South Bend lathes to cnc. I
already had the 5 phase steppers and drives. I just had to mount motors
and a ball screw for the z axis. I built a moglice nut for the x axis(no
room for ball screw).I was making chips on Friday. I think that I spent
more time "tweeking" that moglice nut than the whole conversion. I was
wanting to make the motor mounts on my freshly converted Bridgeport, but
wound up having to hand crank because of time constraints. Oh well,
there will be other projects for that. This "job" turned out to be a cnc
type of job , so I had to move fast.
