Jim and others,

I did not want to give out my bank account number so I chose the cr card
method.
I later sent an email to PayPal asking the following:

I want to use my credit card with PayPal, not my bank account.

My understanding is if I tell you to send someone $10, my cr card
will be charged $10 and I will then just pay my cr card bill in my
regular way. Correct?

If someone tells you to pay me $10, how is it paid to me? As a credit
to my cr card account?

Is it true I will not get the $5 new account bonus using my credit card?
Will the person refering me get the $5 if I use my credit card?

PayPal's response:

Dear Bob,

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

You are able to send money from your credit card to anyone using
PayPal. If you receive a payment to your PayPal account, it
will come to your account as cash and not credited back to your
credit card. We do not allow users to credit there credit cards
through PayPal. To receive your new account bonus, you will
need to register and verify a bank account with PayPal. For the
person who refered your to PayPal to receive there bonus you must
either add your credit card to the account, or verify a bank
account with PayPal.

My interpretation of the above says Bill will get the $5 referral but I
won't get the free $5 for signing up.

I haven't seen a list of contributors by referral so I don't know if it
worked.
