Draw, draw, draw!
CAD is one of the few areas discussed here that I have a little
experience with. I started drawing homes back when I built them, back
when the programs I could afford had no parts except those you
conjured yourself. I drew and drew and drew, sometimes 16 hours a day
on a weekend.
The only other tip I have is try to learn the proceedure used by your
particular program,i.e. if you're drawing a hexagon, what does the
program want first, second, etc.

Learning Vector for me was a bear because the proceedure is so
different from any other CAD program I've tried.
