Last I heard, FlashCut was definately going to use USB in their 32
bit release. I have not heard different to date, and was also told by
a "little bird" that it is already a working software, being
fine tuned and scheduled for release sometime in november.
I am looking forward to it,

What are the performance characteristics of the USB, as opposed to
parallel or serial port controllers? Is this a practical approach to
take for machine control?

with
Vfontz, and Vector can then export 3D DXF files with machinable tool
paths for engraving tru-type letters with a V tipped cutter.
