I went to a McDonnell Douglas auction, and saw an item hidden well in
the
back of the bid list that just said ballscrews - new. I walked ALL over
the plant
looking for these, and finally, on a "just one more look" peek into a
small room,
found them. They were at least 5" in diameter, about 20' long, with
ball nuts
that were about 8-10" in diameter and a foot long! They were new
replacements
for some Cincinnatti machine. But, definitely out of the class stuff I
was looking
for.

Somebody ought to grab these, as they would be fine for retrofitting a
Bridgeport,
especially a Ser II machine, or one in that size range. You can cut off
excess
length quite easily. You could sell them on eBay.
