Test Peice for 3D finishing

Hi list:
Is there a G code file / 3d test piece that is suitable for to
comparatively assess the software and controller performance during 3D
finishing?

Recently there has been discussion on EMC for engraving and also MaxNC
for finishing, both regarding the "need for speed" for 3d finishing.

My thoughts are a standard test piece say 50 mm (2") by 50 mm (2"),
consisting of a hemisphere that would be cut by 6 mm (1/4") ball mill.
The inclusion of some easy to measure feature would be useful to assess
accuracy as well.
Possibly by not using G02 / G03, as they are not supported by all
controllers, it would more useful to everybody. Also the toolpath would
be a constant stepover as well as model and machining tolerance.

Currently trying to assess what is best combination of controller and
software for such 3D finishing, hence my desire for true comparative
data.

I can do the 3D modeling ( have access to Visi CAD CAM and Mech. Desktop
+ hyperMill and SolidEdge at work) + Gcode generation for Fanuc, but
would appreciate some input as to the best shape?
