P.S. I too, enjoy the art of patternmaking. Used to do quite a bit of
it. I HAVE been able to find (over the years) some old guys to chat
with. Also some good books. Check Lindsay publications for reprints
of "old technology", including some classic patternmaking texts.

P.S.S. Yes Ian, some of the old knowledge dies, and machines(with
admittedly poor brains) take over for hand skills. And we DO lose
something in the process...

Maybe if we taught some of the 1.5 billion people who have been added
to this earth in the last 20 years... I see people coming out of
school with "virtual" skills, but no "real world" sensibility...

It's not really their fault. The system increasingly teaches concepts
and leaves out the nuts and bolts... Sure miss some of my old
"craftsman" buddies (insert sad, soft music here)
