Hi,
Thanks everyone for the advice. The power supply I was using for the motor
supply is a large computer switch mode one so that may be affecting the top
speed. I currently have the motors connected in full-coil mode (one of them
only has 4 wires anyway). I am ramping up the speed, I found early on that
trying to start at speed doesn't work. Next job seems to be to make a
proper motor power supply and I have a nice big 24volt transformer sat
looking at me so, as soon as I can pluck up courage to go and queue for an
hour or so at the components shop for the other bits, I'll try it again.
