This actually hits the nail on the head.
Part 15 defines class A devices for industrial areas, and class B
devices for residential use. The class B ratings are more stringent,
as could be expected.
As a manufacturer, you better have your "ducks in a row" about this.
Typical workarounds are "I didn't KNOW he wasn't in an INDUSTRIAL
area, Mr. FCC guy!" ; and, selling "Kits", which allow the defense of
"I didn't put it together!".
As a home user, As long as NO ONE complains about your "stuff"
(machines and what not) causing them to miss their favorite TV show
(or something similar) you will probably never have to worry about
this.
HOWEVER, IF they DO, YOU WILL HAVE to correct the problem! This is
stated in the part 15 regs., and is part of the text mfr.s must place
on the product and in the documentation.
So heed Jon's idea and put some electronic "stuff" like radios, and
TV's around your machine, and see if you think the neighbors will try
to "shut ya down". If so, take corrective action.
