multitasking .. I think the old Amiga had multitasking

multitasking, which are significantly different.
In non-preemptive multitasking, the programs have to cooperate, in
preemptive the scheduler yanks the plug
when the current task has run for x long, generally known
as the quantum. My definition of real time is simple:
if it runs fast enough that my hydraulics don't smash anything, it is
real-time. Lets just say that i know first
hand that window nt is not real time and leave it at that.
