If you don't have anything connected to the watchdog circuit, then it
won't
hurt to have it either way. The only benefit it gives in that condition
is if
the CPU stops sending updates to the DACs, the watchdog will set the DAC

output to zero (I think).

The watchdog circuit can be connected to external circuitry which can
shut
off the servo amps if a timeout occurrs.
