John,

I've already posted that I support your right to create and sell a
How-To-CNC Booklet. At WHATEVER price YOU decide.

I also support the right of others to question the VALUE of the
booklet. And post their thoughts to this list.

We do this with machines, software, ideas, techniques...

There's no need to be offended. Or defensive. This is a group of
several HUNDRED people; Some you will connect with, some you won't.

You don't seem familiar with the Gingery series of booklets. They are
EXCELLENT! And less expensive than yours. SO WHAT! Some models of
Volkswagon cost less than some models of BMW. But people drive both,
and are happy with their choice.

You also don't seem to know that you are not the first to publish a
"simple low-cost cnc" plan. MaxNC sells a plan for $65.00(WITH gcode
software) which is also a 6 inch by 6 inch, with more Z axis, and
CAN EASILY cut metal. And it TOO uses cheap 1/4-20 threaded rod for
leadscrews. It is also very easy to build without special tools.

There are others. MANY others; but the MaxNC example is the closest
to what you are offering(that I am aware of). Supercams' minirobo has
already been mentioned. Several others are available online(both free
and $$$)and even more have been published in "niche" magazines like
Nuts and Volts, Circuit Cellar Ink, and Poptronix over the years.

Thank you for providing the results of your efforts. Please do not
try to diminish the results of other similar efforts. If you believe
in your work, let it stand on its own merits. And MARKET like crazy!!
:-)

Hi Alvaro,
Thanks for the kind words. My booklet has a over 50 computer
drawing....others plans don't even come close. Who needs a $150
leadscrew when a $2 piece of 1/4-20 threaded rod will work. I use a
one inch piece of rubber tubing to couple the motor to the threaded
rod. The Z-X-Y all move just like a Bridgeport. All the GCODES are the
same except for the FEEDRATE. My unit will engrave or mill. I fail to
beleive a set of plans as SIMPLE as mine exist! The unit is for the
beginner who can't afford to spend more than $125.
