I use machined stainless 1/4-20 rod (Small Parts) for the carriage
leadscrew on my Taig lathe. Best as I can measure it using my 8"
Mitutoyo caliper coupled to the carriage, over the length of the
rod (@8 inches of travel) I get an error of .015". Backlash is @ .0025.
