  Ballscrews are 85-90% efficient compared to acme screws which are about 45%.
Thus you can either double the speed if you were to CNC the machine or
increase the power or both.
Depending on the ballscrew used and ballnut to can have zero backlash if
you buy and antibacklash ballnut assembly or buy a precision ball nut with
the balls sized for the leadscrew. Precision ballscrews are about $5-10 an
inch. Rollcut ballscrews are .003 max lead error per foot and run $1-3 an
inch.
To do circular interpolation with any precision with CNC , ballscrews are a
must.
