Hugh,

These work fine. But...

1)You are limited to the mfr's choice of leads for the screw.
2)You have no control over backlash.
3)Most of these use a brass/bronze/plastic internal nut. When it
wears beyond your tolerance, you have to replace a motor, rather than
a nut.

For slow moving, light loads these are ok. I have used them in light
duty Z axis apps with success since gravity cancels some of the
drawbacks.

P.S. I have not seen these except in 23 and 34 single stack size.
