I'm back

Hey guys, I have been on vacation for awhile. What's been going on with EMC?
Any new updates? How many users do we have out there? Anyone have any new
servo systems running?

While on vacation, I visited Ron Wickersham. He very graciously showed me
around his really cool shop.
Ron has a lot of commercial CNCs running and is still interested in EMC. He
is using it to control a telescope too. I really enjoyed talking with him. (

Ron also turned me on to a program called VNC, that gives you virtual control
over one computer, from the console of another. So, you can bring up a Linux
screen on a windows or vice versa.
I can see the value of using this to run my windows programs on one machine
(cam stuff) and the machine controller on the linux box. Forget about messing
with the emulators. Just segregate the stuff on a cheap network of two
computers. I don't have it set up yet, but I will soon. The url is :
