I've had limited experience buying HF equipment, but I have to agree.
I bought a wire feed welder from them and I had to rebuild the wire
feed mechanism.
Unless you're buying name brand or something so simple they can't
possibly screw it up, I'd avoid HF. They seem to tend toward the lower
end of the Chinese trade spectrum to keep their prices down.
On the positive side, I bought a dust colleter from them and it has
performed well. I think that falls into the 'so simple they can't
screw it up' category. The famous $169 HF bandsaw also likely falls
into that category.
