I have no experience with the particular machine, but I ran my Shoptask as a
CNC machine both ways. It worked fine with the acme screws, but my rapid
moves were considerably slower. I am guessing this was due to 10 tpi acme vs
the 5 tpi ball screws and the considerably lower friction in a ball screw.
So, I think you could get started with the stock screws and upgrade to ball
screws later.
