The taper on a R-8 tool is exactly the same as on a NMTB-30. I have
machines with both spindles here. You could make an adapter to run NMTB-30 in
an r-8 spindle, You obviously can't do it the other way. If I recall, the
Royal products catalog had a detailed drawing of a 5-c collet. I'm pretty
sure the Hardinge catalog too. If you can't get it in a few days, I can fax
them to you. Have never bothered buying a scanner.....
