Re: UK and Europe source for ballscrews

Hi Wally.

The screws come one end unmachined, the other end machined.

From the machined end inwards it looks like this:

a 14 mm length of (guesstimated) M12 thread;
85 mm of 15.5 mm dia, with a keyway machined in;
27 mm of 20 mm dia;
82 mm of 25 mm dia.
From there on the effective length of the ballscrew (28 mm dia, 5 mm pitch)
begins (433 mm for the short version).

The nut is round, 80.5 mm long and 55 mm dia and has a key.

Don't forget to subtract the length of the nut from the screw length to get
to the effective max. stroke.

Each screw was 100 UK pounds, regardless of size (as I said, they come in
pairs, one long, one short).
For my order of 4, the crating cost 25 pounds.

I got a discount on shipping by being able to charge those costs on the
account of a former employer.
The original quote for it was 117 pounds.
This was for transport from Ian's shop in Devon to a small town near
Rotterdam, about 1000 km distance.
The total package weighed 30 kilograms, to give you an idea.

All prices excluding VAT.

I suggest that, for a quote on shipping to your home, you contact Ian
personally.

Regards,
Mike.
