Good advice, generally. My $.02

Speed is not the only thing to consider. You need to look at the
AVAILABLE torque AT the SPEEDS you INTEND USING to cut.

I'd rather have less top speed and a wider range of speeds with
SUFFICIENT torque, than high top speed and a narrow band of "cutting"
speeds (due to torque). Assuming I'm cutting a VARIETY of materials.
Else I'd just optimise for the torque/speed suiting the material, and
try for as much "rapid" as possible!

P.S. When I'm stepping slowly, a higher inductance coil is still
being "fully" driven. Like I said, it's decent advice, but to borrow
from Gandhi "There is more to life than increasing its' speed".
