One addt'l point regarding your point below:
Recent Case law has resulted in the removal of the need for
an "explicit copyright statement". Copyright, in MOST, or ALL cases
IS ASSUMED, regardless of whether the "public" has been "notified" by
a copyright symbol or statement.
