Arne:

Do you still have the floppies that you're version came on? If so, and
once you find the drivers for the tablet then it can be configured. I
would possibly suggest trying to play with the name of the tablet in a
URL for a search of the web and maybe finding a site that way. AutoCAD
did come with a generic tablet driver, and that can be accessed in the
configuration menu in those versions, but you will need the floppies if
it is not loaded in your program. Also, once you have your things in
order, you will be able to set the parameters of the tablet from the
command line with the 'TABLET' command. From there you can design your
own tablet menus and so forth.

To input a hand drawing into CAD by a digitizing tablet is not to big a
problem, just time consuming, but depending on the size of drawing it
can also eat up some memory in the process. As of late I have resorted
to scanning my drawing and using a raster-to-vector software to get it
into AutoCAD format for editing. This has worked very well for me. I can
even take a customer's sketch of a part and scan that sketch and edit
the drawing from there, so there exists many variations as to what can
be accomplished with a scanner.

Arne, you will undoubtedly hear me talk of 'time consumed' many times.
To a customer, time means money spent. The nice advantage to CAD is that
it can be customized to be expeditious as my previous post eluded to.
Plus it means my fingers doing less as well. Sorry for being so
conscientious about this.
