For a better idea of what the DRO looks like, I recommend looking at
the instructions. This gives a good idea of the clever design that
was used.

There are three variants for the DRO,2-axis for the lathe, 3-axis for
lathe converted to a mill, and 3-axis for Sherline milling machines.
