Your right there....I never even thought about using pneumatic logics. I
remember way back when it was first being developed (I was in conveyor
design then), my boos didn't like it much. It seems at the time they had
problems with it. And I've certainly never had reason to work with it, so
that would be a whole new field for me.

I'd use those simple air operated QC units (with a custom adaper of course)
someone pointed me to on the web.
They are simple, effective and work with R8 and other tooling.

I don't know...I'd rather be nearby keeping an eye on things. I always try
to keep Murphy's law in mind. And, since I'm there, and it's a home shop
environment, I'd just as soon push a button. Lets me feel like I'm doing
something. I've seen a $40,000 machine drop tools already. That's damn
hard on an 1/8" end mill!

I've got several of those "fingers" on my mill. They are used to actuate
the atuo stop on my power feed.
