The problem lies in the fact that some of the ports requires that bit 5 of
the control port has to be set. This is what the A version of the program
does. I find that on my laptop, this bit is hard coded and cannot be
changed. Yet the desktops that I have tried all need this bit to be set
before the program will run. This can be done in the 4.1 version by using
the "Program Version" option which has been added.
