An old friend now pushing-up Edelweiss in Germany operated a woodworking shop
which produced, oh, 200 lb of sawdust and "planer chips" per week. They had
such a fuel-cost that it "paid" for them to install a machine that made small
fireplace-size logs (like "chipboard") by pressing the stuff together (with
water? Diluted glue?) and "spitting out" 7.5 cm. dia x 50 cm. "logs". I
have NO clue if it actually DID "pay for itself", nor did he ever let me see
the results. He boasted the elimination of a need for ecologically-approved
disposal of the sawdust was part of the "payback". I kinda got the
impression his haste to preclude my actual examination of the machine was
indication that it did not really work. They "do stuff like that" over there!
