Sounds like a good description of a 'Presto' log. Mills in the Northwest excuse me ... Pacific Northwest have been making them for
better than half a century. AFIK no glue is involved. Just put the sawdust in a screw press (you know: one of those variable pitch
screws) and break off section on the output end. BTW they come out of the press really hot.
