Hi everyone,
I have been reading the long e-mails about the probe etc. and it dawned
on me. If I was to make one I would do it as simple as possible. The
easiest way I could think of was to insulate the machines xy table if
you already have a wood one you don't even need too. A piece of wood
would do.
Then cover the object with aluminum foil tightly. If the object is metal
already this step can be skipped. Next insert an insulated probe such as
a sewing needle rapped in plastic into the z spindle.
Finally attach a power supply 5v or maybe a 9v battery to the aluminum.
Make the circuit simple with a nc/no relay to provide the correct logic
circuit to the parallel port.
When the needle touches part to be copied it completes the circuit and
turns the relay on.
I don't know anything about software I am sure someone can figure that
out.
