Stepper motor overcurrent

What I have seen with small motor data is that they don't like overcurrent,
but some large (!!!) motors lke Standerd Electric Nema 42 and whatever the
next size up is say they will tolerate intermittent 100% overcurrent. I
think some large Sigmas (and possibly Pacific Scientific) would do the same.
