Switching supply 'gotchas'

Hello:
Only switching supply 'gotchas' I know of are that they are often
'conditionally stable', usually requiring a minimum load current so they
don't oscillate, and they are electrically 'noisy', causing RFI/EMI
(interference to other electronic gear).
These have been reason enough for me to steer clear of recycling them.
