update copylathe with Siemens 802c and Newall Microsyn readout

Hello folks,
I have a question. Has anybody of You experience using a Newall
Microsyn readout bar with a CNC-control. I plan to upgrade my old
hydraulic copylathe with an Siemens 802c-control but I hate the glas
readout bars that break like nothing. So I want to try my luck with
the Newall Microsyn.
I would be glad for any answer.
