To: all who are interested
You are wanted at the NAMES show
I agreed to conduct the CNC area again at the NAMES show - April 28 & 29,
2001 at the Yack Arena in Wyandotte, Michigan - (Same location as the last
several years)
The NAMES group will be providing us with space on a no-charge basis as part
of their desire to educate people about low-cost and homebuilt CNC - We had
a good turnout last year which was the first year that they provided us free
space - I paid for some of the space myself and donated it to the CNC area
but this year they are donating all of the space for us -
There will also be another 2 hour CNC seminar on Saturday - It has been
standing room only for all the seminars so far!! - This list is partly as a
result of the first seminar and Bill (List Mom) started it right after the
first one -
Please contact me off-list if you want to display at the show - We're
interested in all kinds of projects, whether complete or in process -
Whether machines, electronics, software, or whatever related to CNC -
I need to know who wants to display and what they plan to bring so I can
layout the space in the best way -
If you have a commercial product to sell you are welcome too - The only rule
is that you keep things on a low-key basis - No "hard sell" stuff - By the
way, I apologize for the one "hard sell" guy who was there last year and
accept responsibility for him - He will not be invited back -
On the other hand, I thank those who displayed and participated in the CNC
Round Table at the seminar last year - The NAMES group was very pleased with
the response and want us to continue - This is a great way to meet people
with similar interests and share experiences - Also, the space at the show
is very limited and there is a long waiting list for those who want to pay
for spaces - The fact that they are donating space to us indicates how
important they feel homebuilt CNC is -
I'm hoping to make it to the PRIME show this year and if I do will talk to
the organizers about having a CNC area there also - They may be receptive to
it -
Again, contact me off-list if you are interested in displaying or just
planning to attend - I'll post a summary of those who are planning to be
there on the list after I hear from you - This is a great way to meet the
people you only know through your computers -
