When you say there is no movement from the Z axis - Does this mean that the
machine won't even move to the homing position on power up ??
If that is the case - you have a dead amp. Swap it with one of the other axis
just to confirm the fault.
If the amp is still working, it could be that one of the amp's feedback gains
needs tweeking slightly.
The other alternative is a sick resolver on the Z axis.
