Mariss -
What do you think of using two 9V zener diodes as a regulator? I
know they are for very low currents, but I've seen them used on
rechargeable flashlights that plug into a 120 VAC outlet, for
charging a 2V gell cell overnight. Obviously you need good heat
dissipation, but if your current draw is minimal...?

Tim,
The 160VDC version is at least 6 months out. The main deal there
is
in making a small switching regulator to come up with the 18VDC
the
low-level circuitry needs and fit in within the confines of the
present package. Also the layout needs to be revamped in the high
voltage power section to increase spacing between circuit traces
to
what is acceptable at 160VDC. Lots of work as time allows.
