Cutter radius compensation, was "Re: G code Examples / Cutviewer"

Smoke,

I've never seen the 1/2 diameter move requirement in the manuals for
controls I'm familiar with. I'll try that next time I have a problem.

I have run into situations where I couldn't get comp to activate no
matter what I tried, just cryptic error messages, especially on a
Fagor lathe control. Even sent the Gcode to Fagor to see if they
could make it work. They couldn't get it to engage comp in those
situations either. You can always come up with a work around. It'd
just be nice to fully understand the comp engagement algorithms, but
I've given up on trying.
