What Cut viewer shows (when you show the tool path) is it shows the actual
path of the CENTERLINE of the tool. The big machine at the school does the
samer thing and this makes the part look distorted (on that machine).
However if youjust hit the run button, Cutviewer shows what the part looks
like as the cutter travels along it's programmed path.

The big problem I find with it as I mentioned before, it doesn't show the
correct programmed path in all instances.

BTW we are writing test programs for the machine that will show exactly
what the machine moves will actually be under different cutter comp.
conditions. This is a good idea to do on ANY machine as they don't all work
the same way.

I don't know if it's the same on all machines, but on ours, we have to make
sure the tool travels AT LEAST 1/2 the diameter of the cutter when going
into or out of cutter comp. Could that be the cause of the problem you
mentioned?
